About the Role:
The Cost Accountant/Cost Analyst will be responsible for planning and analyzing costs related to raw materials, labor, and inventory. Key tasks include collecting and reviewing data to evaluate cost changes, preparing reports comparing actual costs to standards, assisting with month-end closing, conducting physical inventories, and reconciling finished goods. The role also involves providing management with insights on pricing and profitability, while ensuring the cost accounting system runs smoothly.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, ICWA, or CA, along with at least 5 years of experience in cost accounting, ideally within the flexible packaging industry (Blown Film, Lamination, and Flexo Printing).
- Expertise in analyzing manufacturing costs, preparing cost estimates, and working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to develop cost standards.
- Strong knowledge of local and GCC markets, including contacts for suppliers and customers in raw materials and finished goods.
- Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., MAPICS).
- In-depth understanding of accounting principles, cost systems, and the ability to prepare and analyze reports accurately.
- Experience working with procurement of raw materials/colors from both local and foreign suppliers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines effectively.
