Retail Sales Associate

Job Summary:

The Sales Associate position is fast-paced and involves constant interaction with

customers. This role focuses on explaining product benefits and fulfilling customer needs,

while also engaging in store maintenance activities such as stocking shelves,

merchandising, and general housekeeping.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Meet, greet, and thank customers (by name when possible) while providing friendly and informed service.
• Guide customers to the location of products.
• Suggest value-added and related products.
• Stock shelves and display areas to ensure product availability.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and facing of stock.
• Locate products in the warehouse as needed.
• Ensure inventory accuracy and identify/report low stock levels.
• Stay informed about promotions and in-store deals.
• Maintain a professional appearance, adhering to uniform, hygiene, grooming, and name tag policies.
• Follow company, store, and department policies.
• Adhere to health and safety programs and provincial occupational health & safety regulations; report any observed or potential hazards immediately.
• Participate in meetings and complete all required training.
• Perform additional tasks as needed.

Major Requirements and Competencies:

• Must speak French and English
• Must had worked/working in a large retail store
• Ability to provide professional customer service and support to team members.
• Strong teamwork skills to achieve common goals.
• Composure and effectiveness in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to follow instructions and take responsibility for outcomes.
• Approachability and a friendly demeanor.
• Punctual and reliable.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Are willing to relocate to Canada

Physical Demands:

• Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours.
• Able to lift up to 10 kilos (25 lbs) unassisted.
• Ability to lift, turn, and carry items repeatedly throughout the shift.
• Capable of lifting above shoulder level and moving items from floor to shoulder and waist.
• Ability to twist, turn, and reach while working above shoulder level.
• Able to ascend and descend a ladder while carrying merchandise.
• Ability to walk and carry items simultaneously, as well as push and pull as required.
