Responsibilities

• Perform validation and provide adequate assurance of the NBK’s model fleet. This will involve running challenger models and documenting findings.
• Perform validation of critical and high risk EUC tools. This will cover important calculators covering: LCR and NSFR calculations & Solvency Ratio calculations
• Manage and review Risk Appetite, ICAAP, ILAAP, IRRBB and Recovery Planning and other regulatory projects for more developed market subsidiaries such as NBK London and Paris
• Ensure model validation’s requirements are covered by the bank’s model risk management framework.
• Ensure the bank’s model validation standards and policies are in-line with best practices and in line with the Central Bank of الكويت. In addition, support other NBK bodies in complying with model validation requirements.
• Work with model owners to ensure that model validation actions have been implemented on a timely basis.
• Provide reporting to the Head of Model Validation to summarize key thematic model validation issues for reporting to the Board Risk and Compliance committee.
• Enhance model validation analytical tools used in model validation activities

• Coding experience within Python (SQL as well would be considered a bonus)
• Modelling or Model Validation experience across all risks but we can cater for a candidate with experience in 1 to 2 risks such as Credit and Liquidity
• Reasonable communication experience
• Experience in western markets will be highly considered, but happy to consider candidates who have experience within GCC as well.
• 4-7 years’ relevant work experience, with at least 2 to 4 years’ experience in modeling or validating risk models
