A Zain subsidiary is seeking to hire an AssociateInternal Audit Officer who will be responsible for supporting the execution of risk based audits across key operational, financial, and IT areas. The role involves testing controls, performing data driven analysis and reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The candidate will contribute to identifying control gaps, validating revenue and settlement accuracy, preparing audit observations, and supporting follow ups on remediation actions while maintaining high standards of integrity and independence.

Responsibilities
  • Plan & scope audits: Assist in risk based audit planning, process walkthroughs, and control mapping for payment processing, wallet ledger integrity, settlement, chargebacks/disputes, refunds, and fee/revenue accuracy.
  • Test controls: Execute test procedures for operational, financial, and IT controls (user access, change management).
  • Data driven testing: Use spreadsheets/BI to perform reconciliations (e.g., KNET/PSP files vs. wallet ledger vs. bank statements), sample selections, exception analysis, and trend testing.
  • Compliance coverage: Review KYC/merchant files, sanctions screening evidence, ongoing monitoring, suspicious activity escalation, and record keeping for adherence to regulatory requirements (e.g., CBK or applicable local regulator).
  • Revenue & cost accuracy: Validate pricing tables, take rates, interchange/assessment fees, and partner share calculations; test completeness and accuracy of billing and settlements.
  • Reporting: Draft clear audit observations (criteria condition cause impact recommendation), agree action plans/owners/due dates, and track remediation to closure.
  • Follow ups & advisory: Verify closure evidence, support special reviews (incidents, outages, customer complaints), and contribute to continuous control monitoring ideas.
  • Ethics & independence: Maintain confidentiality, objectivity, and speak up culture; escalate issues that pose material risk.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Certifications (preferred, not mandatory): CIA (Part 1/2), ACCA (partially or fully qualified), CISA, CAMS, or other relevant audit certifications.
Experience
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience in internal audit, risk, compliance, or a related field.
Language
  • Strong English and Arabic.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (pivot tables, lookups, basic modeling); experience with Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL or audit analytics tools (e.g., IDEA, ACL) is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with IT General Controls (ITGCs), cloud/SaaS environments, and cybersecurity fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and frameworks such as IPPF (IIA), ISO 27001, PCI DSS, COBIT, COSO, and AML/CFT is preferred.
  • Strong soft skills, including clear written communication, professional skepticism, time management, stakeholder communication, and the ability to simplify complex processes.
