Senior Purchasing Officer

Job Summary: The Senior Purchasing Officer is responsible for procuring materials, supplies, and services for the company while ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery. This role involves sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing inventory, and maintaining accurate records. Responsibilities: Source and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery capabilities. Negotiate contracts and terms of agreement with suppliers. Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions. Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of stock. Track and manage orders, ensuring on-time delivery and resolving any discrepancies. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers. Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and cost-saving opportunities. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Assist in the development and implementation of purchasing strategies. Manage returns and defective goods. - Generate purchasing reports. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field (preferred). At least 3 years of experience in purchasing or procurement in the food industry. - Strong negotiation and communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Knowledge of procurement software and ERP systems (preferred). - Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions. Attention to detail and accuracy. Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
