The International University of Science & Technology in الكويت (IUK) is a newly established private university in الكويت, with a new Campus located in the heart of الكويت near the Avenues Mall. Fully accredited by the Private Universities Council (PUC), the University offers a wide range of academic programs in Engineering, Business, and Arts and Social Sciences. In addition to the academic programs, the IUK has established the University Foundation Program (UFP) that offers English and Math foundation programs. The IUK is looking for dynamic full-time instructors who are passionate about teaching, contributing to developing a vibrant and successful learning environment with students.

المنصب Summary

The Civil & Architectural Engineering Teaching Assistant المنصب is an integral part of the academic support team within the College of Engineering at IUK. Teaching Assistants play a crucial role in facilitating the learning and understanding engineering concepts among undergraduate students. They provide academic assistance, promote active learning, and collaborate with professors to enhance the overall educational experience for students.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with professors to assist in the delivery of lectures and workshops.
• Lead discussion sections, review sessions, or lab sessions to reinforce course material.
• Assist in grading assignments, quizzes, and exams according to established rubrics.
  
• Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve their performance.
• Assist in maintaining course-related records and documentation.
• Attend department meetings and training sessions as required.
  
• Create supplementary materials such as practice problems, worksheets, or study guides to aid in student understanding.

Qualifications

•   Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering or a related field is required.
  
•   Enrollment in or completion of a graduate program in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering or a related field is preferred.

Experience

• Prior experience as a teaching assistant or tutor in civil or architectural engineering is advantageous.
  
• Strong academic background in civil and architectural engineering fundamentals.
  

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of civil and architectural engineering principles (e.g., structures, construction materials, design fundamentals).
• Familiarity with engineering and design software is preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and assist with engineering drawings and design documents.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and equipment related to civil or architectural engineering.
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
