We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior – IT Audit to join our growing IT Audit practice at KPMG Kuwait. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with more than 3‑4 years of experience in IT Risk, Audit, and Assurance, who are eager to take on leadership responsibilities and make a meaningful impact in a dynamic, high‑performing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead or support IT audit engagements on small and medium size clients focusing on IT general controls, IT application controls, and IT risk assessments across various industries, ensuring high‑quality delivery within scope, time, and budget in line framework such with ISA and KPMG Audit Execution Guide.
- Perform and supervise fieldwork, prepare IT audit work papers, and document findings.
- Collaborate with engagement teams and clients to assess technology risks, evaluate internal controls, and recommend enhancements.
- Experience in leading the execution of IT audits/ assessments of IT processes against leading practices, frameworks and common standards (e.g. COSO, CoBIT, NIST, ISO 27001/02). Prepare and draft reports, presentations, and audit documentation for accuracy and clarity prior to delivery to clients.
- Work closely with Managers and Directors in client meetings, presentations, and proposals.
- Mentor and coach junior staff, providing guidance and performance feedback.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies, cyber threats, and industry best practices.
- Contribute to the development of client relationships and support business development activities where required.

- Proficiency in assessing IT Application Controls, IPE, and Interface Controls through code reviews, IT General Controls/ITGC/GITC review covering areas such as Change Management, Access Management, Backup Management, Incident and Problem Management, SDLC, Data Migration, Batch Job scheduling/monitoring and Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.
- Good understanding of business processes (accounting, billing, payroll, etc.).
- Technical Knowledge of IT Audit Tools with excellent knowledge of IT Audit process and methodology.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (B.E/B.Tech, BCA, MCA, B.Sc/M.Sc).
- Minimum of 3‑4 years’ experience in IT audit, IT risk, or IT assurance (preferably within a Big 4 or professional services environment).
- Hands‑on experience with ITGCs, application controls testing, and infrastructure reviews.
- Exposure to SOX compliance and internal audit environments.
- Professional certifications such as CISA, CRISC, CISSP, or equivalent (preferred or in progress).
- Knowledge of relevant frameworks: COBIT, ISO 27001, NIST, COSO.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and other MS Office tools.
- Exposure to ERP systems will be added advantage.
- Exposure to automation Data Analytics tools such as Alteryx & Power BI will be an advantage.
- Industry experience in – Telecom, Banking, and energy.
