About the SchoolWe are recruiting for a long-established, co‑educational English‑medium school located in the vibrant Salmiya district of الكويت City. Established in 1980, the school delivers a broad and balanced British curriculum from Kindergarten through to Year 12, leading to IGCSE, AS, and A Level qualifications.
The school serves a diverse international community of over 2,500 students representing approximately 40 nationalities. While the majority of students are الكويتi or from neighbouring countries, the school places strong emphasis on global citizenship, cultural understanding, and academic excellence within a supportive and inclusive environment.
Salmiya is a well‑developed coastal district offering museums, cultural centres, shopping malls, medical facilities, parks, and seaside promenades. The school is a member of recognised professional organisations, reflecting its commitment to high academic and professional standards.
Job SummaryThe school is seeking a dedicated and experienced Primary Teacher to join its Primary School team from January 2026. This role is suited to a teacher who is passionate about delivering high‑quality primary education and who can create engaging, inclusive, and well‑structured learning experiences aligned with the British curriculum.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong classroom practice, a commitment to student wellbeing, and the ability to contribute positively to a collaborative and forward‑thinking teaching team.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Primary Teacher will plan and deliver high‑quality lessons in line with the British National Curriculum, ensuring continuity, progression, and high standards of learning across the Primary phase. Teaching will be informed by effective pedagogical practice, with a focus on developing literacy, numeracy, critical thinking, and independence.
The role includes assessing and monitoring student progress using a range of formative and summative strategies, maintaining accurate records of achievement, and contributing to written reports and parent‑teacher meetings. The teacher will create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports students academic, social, and emotional development.
Collaboration is central to the role. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues and school leaders to support curriculum development, moderation, and professional reflection. Participation in school events, enrichment activities, and ongoing professional development is expected. All staff are required to uphold the schools values, safeguarding policies, and behaviour expectations.
Candidate RequirementsApplicants should hold a Bachelors degree in Education or a related subject, together with a recognised teaching qualification such as a PGCE or B.Ed. A minimum of three years relevant teaching experience within a British curriculum setting is required.
The school is seeking a teacher with strong subject knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse international environment. A commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice is essential.
Salary & BenefitsThe school offers a tax‑free monthly salary, negotiable based on qualifications and experience. Teachers are provided with free, fully furnished single accommodation, with utilities included, or may opt for a housing allowance of KWD 150 per month. Teachers relocating with families may access a two‑bedroom apartment for KWD 90 per month, subject to availability. Residential facilities include access to a gym and swimming pool.
Complimentary two‑way school transportation is provided for the الأول three months of employment, with continued service available thereafter at a subsidised cost of KWD 20 per month.
The benefits package includes an initial flight from the teachers الرئيسية الدولة, an annual return flight during the summer holiday, and a return flight at the end of the contract. Medical coverage is provided through government health insurance for the الأول two years, followed by private medical insurance from the third year onwards.
Teachers are eligible for a 100% school fee discount for up to two children, subject to management approval. The school also offers reimbursement of visa‑related expenses up to KWD 100, upon submission of receipts.
Working ConditionsThe contract is offered for two years, renewable by mutual agreement. The academic year consists of approximately 177 teaching days. Working hours are 07:10 to 14:40, Sunday to Thursday, with Fridays and Saturdays designated as weekends.
