المنصب Summary

The planning manager is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and optimising project planning activities across multiple construction projects. This role ensures that all project schedules, resource plans, progress monitoring, and forecasting are developed and maintained in alignment with الشركة standards, project requirements, and client expectations. The planning manager provides strategic support to project teams, identifies risks, and ensures timely delivery of project milestones within cost and time constraints.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and manage comprehensive project schedules using approved planning tools
• Monitor project progress, analyse variances, and prepare periodic reports (weekly, monthly) for management and clients.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, procurement, and site teams to gather data and validate schedule activities.
• Prepare baseline schedules, recovery schedules, and revised schedules as required.
• Conduct delay analysis, identify critical paths, and propose corrective actions.
• Ensure schedule alignment with project contractual requirements and الشركة planning standards.
• Prepare resource histograms, manpower loading charts, and equipment utilisation plans.
• Support tendering teams with planning inputs, including schedules, methodologies, and manpower estimates.
• Lead planning-related meetings and provide expert advice to project leadership.
• Maintain high accuracy and integrity of all schedule data and documentation.
• Support claims and variation orders by providing delay analysis and time-impact assessments.
• Assist in the development and improvement of internal planning procedures, templates, and reporting formats.
• Train and mentor project planning engineers and scheduling staff.
• Coordinate with the cost control team for progress measurements and financial alignment.
• Participate in audits and reviews related to project performance and schedule health.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project planning efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (mandatory).
• Master's Degree in Project Management or Engineering (preferred).
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in planning and scheduling within the construction industry.
• Prior experience in large-scale civil, infrastructure, or building projects (preferred).
• Experience working with international contractors or engineering firms (an advantage).
• Proven track record in delay analysis, extension of time claims, and schedule recovery planning.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and reporting abilities.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

Professional Certification (Preferred but not Mandatory):

• PMI-SP (Scheduling Professional)
• PMP (Project Management Professional)
• AACEI Certifications (PSP – Planning & Scheduling Professional)
