About the School

Gulf English School (GES), established in 1980, is a multi-national, co-educational English medium school located in the vibrant commercial district of Salmiya in الكويت City. The school caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 12, offering a broad and balanced British curriculum that leads to IGCSE, AS, and A Levels.

The area of Salmiya hosts numerous museums, mosques, an aquarium, a Scientific Center, IMAXX movie theaters, football stadium, medical centers, a Roman Catholic Chapel, the district passport office ("Jawazat") and a well-equipped park beside the 5th Ring Road. The Gulf Road is coveted for its amazing sea vistas and is the main hub for new construction of future buildings and renovations. Job Summary

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Mathematics Teacher to join our Secondary School team. The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching mathematics, capable of delivering engaging and well-structured lessons, and dedicated to helping students achieve strong academic outcomes across the British curriculum.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality Mathematics teaching in line with the British National Curriculum, including IGCSE and potentially AS/A Level.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that promote mathematical understanding, problem-solving, and analytical thinking.
  • Use a range of assessment strategies to monitor student progress and inform teaching and learning.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and learning styles.
  • Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students to support progress and achievement.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attainment and contribute to reporting and parent-teacher meetings.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the Mathematics department and across the wider school.
  • Participate in curriculum development, moderation, and departmental planning.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and school-wide events as required.
  • Uphold the schools values and policies, including safeguarding, equality, and behaviour management.
Candidate Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related subject (Masters degree preferred).
  • Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, B.Ed.).
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant teaching experience within a British curriculum setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics, with experience teaching IGCSE essential (A Level experience desirable).
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse international environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
Salary & Benefits

The school offers a tax-free monthly salary, which is negotiable based on qualifications and experience. Teachers are provided with free, fully furnished single accommodation, with utilities included. Alternatively, a housing allowance of KWD 150 per month is available. Teachers relocating with families may access a two-bedroom apartment for KWD 90 per month. Residential facilities include access to a gym and swimming pool.

For transportation, the school provides complimentary two-way transport to and from school for the الأول three months of employment. Thereafter, continued transport is available at a subsidised cost of KWD 20 per month.

The benefits package includes an initial flight from the teachers الرئيسية الدولة at the start of the contract, an annual return flight during the summer break, and a return flight at the end of the contract. Medical coverage is provided through government health insurance for the الأول two years, followed by private health insurance from the third year onwards.

Teachers are eligible for a 100% school fee discount for up to two children, subject to management approval. In addition, the school offers reimbursement of visa-related expenses up to KWD 100, upon submission of valid receipts.

Working Conditions
  • Contract Length: Two years, renewable by mutual agreement
  • Working Days: Approximately 177 teaching days per year
  • Working Hours: 07:10 AM to 02:40 PM, Sunday to Thursday
  • Weekends: Fridays and Saturdays
