Carbonate seismic interpretation: Apply advanced seismic workflows to delineate platform margins, reef build-ups, shoals, and karst features; integrate seismic geomorphology and attribute analysis for carbonate deالمنصبal systems.
Velocity and depth modeling in carbonates: Build robust velocity models accounting for heterogeneous lithology, high-velocity anhydrite layers, and karst voids; incorporate VSP/checkshot data for accurate depth conversion.
Seismic inversion for carbonate heterogeneity: Perform pre-stack and post-stack inversion to predict porosity distribution, fracture intensity, and lithology variations; integrate inversion results with rock physics calibrated for carbonate systems.
Fracture and vug detection: Use seismic attributes (coherence, curvature, azimuthal anisotropy) and AVO/AVAz analysis to identify fracture corridors and karst networks critical for well placement.
Rock physics for carbonates: Develop carbonate-specific rock physics models considering dual porosity systems, fluid substitution, and diagenetic effects; calibrate elastic properties with core and log data.
Integration with geology and petrophysics: Collaborate on carbonate facies modeling and reservoir characterization by linking seismic attributes to deالمنصبal and diagenetic trends.
Qualifications
Extensive carbonate experience: 10-15+ years in carbonate reservoirs (platform, reef, ramp), including FDP and mature field optimization.
Carbonate seismic interpretation expertise: Proven ability to map karst features, reef complexes, and fracture networks using advanced seismic attributes and inversion.
Rock physics and AVO in carbonates: Strong background in carbonate-specific elastic modeling, fluid substitution, and anisotropy analysis.
Depth conversion challenges: Experience handling velocity heterogeneity and uncertainty in carbonate settings using stochastic and deterministic approaches.
Integration skills: Ability to link seismic results with petrophysical and geological models for dual-porosity systems.
Software proficiency: Petrel Q.I. modules for carbonate workflows; familiarity with specialized tools for fracture detection and anisotropy analysis.
Familiarity with carbonate analogues: Good knowledge of local and regional deالمنصبal models (Middle East)
