Registrar - Dental
Purpose and Scope of the Job
Registrar will provide preventive and restorative treatment typically treats a wide range of patients, from children to the elderly clients to examine, diagnose, and treat diseases, abnormalities, injuries, and dysfunctional disorders of the oral cavity and its associated structures.
Main Duties and Responsibilities/Performance Standards
1
Ensures implementation of the Ministry of Health regulations, the Hospital Medical
Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and the Department Policy and Guidelines

Diagnosis and treatment of patients referred to department and responsible to run
his/her own clinic.

Responsible to provide the highest quality of service to the patients under his/her
care within the resources provided by the program
4
Examine, diagnose and treat diseases, abnormalities, injuries and dysfunctional
disorders of the oral cavity and its associated structures
5
Examine patients and interpret radiographs and diagnostic tests to determine type and extent of dental diseases and disabilities or dysfunctions
6
Evaluate findings and prescribe type, extent, and order of treatment, refer
nondental cases to the appropriate concerned medical specialty
7
Perform routine preventive, periodontal, oral surgery, endodontic, and prosthodontictreatment and provide the necessary consultation services.

Determine requirements for material, equipment, facilities, and personnel to
accomplish the mission of The Dental Unit.

Instruct dental physicians and the technicians in professional and administrative
functions of dental service

Determine and advise on the quality and quantities of resource, supplies
requirements for dental clinics and laboratories an maintain appropriate patients charts and updated records for continuity of care

Participates in teaching programs in the Department and its sections, regular
seminars, promotes clinical investigative work.

Maintain the highest professional standard of documentation in line with policies
and procedures and internationally accepted standards.
13
Keeps current with new procedures and techniques in the field of his/her
specialty.
14
Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities.

Participates in committee membership, if assigned

Maintains strictest confidentiality
17
Accept all other additional assignments found necessary by the Head of Department
Qualifications, Competences and Skills
Education
Bachelor and Master Degree
Experience
Minimum of 1 year after masters degree
Licensure
Valid Kuwait License
Language
Well versed in English and Arabic
Computer Proficiency
Good Computer Skills
Performance Competencies

Good communication skills

Knowledge of Required Organizational practices /patient safety standards.

Command over professional code of ethics , medical bylaws
4
Knowledge of evidence based Age specific/ Population specific patient care clinical guidelines accepted by the hospital

Culturally competent ( Kuwaiti patients culture and beliefs)
